VENDOR FIND { YUMMY CUPCAKES & CAKES }

Another vendor find for those of you on the lookout for a very clever and stylish cake maker and this ones for the lucky brides of Sydney...  Yummy Cupcakes and Cakes.
These cake designs are truly exquisite. I love the use of subtle colour mixed with scupltured icing technique to give detail. They really are quite elegant and their cupcakes are of the same tone.
They also have a fabulous blog showcasing more of their fabulous work here.
Yummy Cupcakes and Cakes would definitely be on my wish list of suppliers for any event. They are open via appointment only and are located in Kingsgrove, Sydney.

FAIRY BRIDE'S FAVOURITE FIVE { KAT WIEFFERING }

I have another 'blushing bride' interview for you today from the gorgeous Kat Wieffering who was married to the handsome Matt English on August 22nd. Read all of Kat's tips and advice as she answers our famous Favourite Five questions...

1. Describe your wedding theme in one sentence...
Modern black and white, with a splash of pink!
(Kat and Matt's Lovebirds Invitation, rsvp postcard and wishing well card with printed envelope is below)

2. Most useful Bridal Resource and why - Could be a magazine, website, blog etc...
Vogue Forums - i couldn't live without it!

3. Best inexpensive find? (Could be an item or venue, supplier etc...)

Definately our reception venue, Jade Buddha - we were the first people to hold a wedding there, and it was a stunning location with really fantastic food (cocktail style) for a really relaxed, modern wedding that was a little bit different!

4. What was your biggest splurge? ( something you just absolutely had to have and didn't want to show hubby the price tag!)

I'm actually putting this one on the hubby - he wanted a string quartet for the ceremony - since it was the one thing he requested, I couldn't say no! My little splurge was my hair piece!

5. Best piece of wedding prep advice for newly engaged gals...

In the last week, just enjoy it. It's too late to try and fix any last minute mishaps, don't let them stress you out, so just roll with it. You have spent countless hours preparing & worrying about everything else, so for the few days before the wedding, make it all about you, and making sure you are 100% ready for the best day of your life!

Thanks so much Kat for taking part xx

TREND ALERT { MASON JARS }

For those of you that don't know what a Mason Jar is, it is the official name for the type of glass jars used in preserving fruits and these little vessels have become extremely en vogue to keep all manor of things looking fancy for your wedding. They have a real vintage feel about them with their brand seals moulded to the glass. I have found so many idea's that they can be used for and each giving a different and unique look to the decor. Particular favs of the above include painting them white, floating candles inside, wrapping with a doily and twine and the gorgeous mason jar chandelier! Great for little guest favor trinkets and even as a drinks glass.

FAIRY THEME # 41 { LEMON CITRUS }

The citrus scent of Lemon and Grapefruit yellow come through on this very sunny summery theme board today. Yellow has long been a popular colour for weddings over the last few seasons. It looks amazing with loads of white, or try new combinations such as yellow and navy, yellow and turquoise or the stylish yellow and gray. I have so many favourite images on this board... loving the patterned tape and that gorgeous subtle ombre tiered cake.

COOL COLOURS

I recently stumbled across this very 'cool' blog called Photo Card Boutique that feature regular colour palette idea's that they title 'Cool Colours' to get you inspired for whatever creative buzz you are working on - be it a wedding or interiors project. The designer's Angie and Katie are definitely on my colour wavelength and the way they put these simple 1 image boards together is a great way to start your colourscheme juices flowing.
Check out their blog for more cool colours.

TREND ALERT { SHEET MUSIC }

I have been noticing lots of wedding decor and accessories with a music note theme of late. Traditionally a theme of rustic autumnal weddings, it is starting to creep into soft summer vintage palettes with colours of cream, peach and pinks being popular to freshen up this look. We even did our own Luxe invitation with a sheet music wrap band for one of our Bride's a few months back with a soft pink ribbon. It's a romantic reflection of a couples love of music and with sheet music quite easily accessible to us all, it makes for some great DIY projects for your big day.

SEASHORE INVITATION - WHAT'S YOUR COLOUR?

With many of you in the process of selecting your stationery design for summer weddings, I thought I'd show you some of our traditional beach themes in not so traditional colours. Having a beach of seaside wedding doesn't mean you have to stick to nautical colours of blue and navy. Here our Seashore invitation is lovely in traditional Harbour colourway ( top left ) but it also looks fantastic in the summer brights of Coral, Ocean and Lupine Purple. This is a great way to still have your beach/seaside theme but adding in more of your personality and tying in the rest of your wedding fashion and decor colours. Click here to view our entire colour palette, it costs no extra to change your chosen design into any of our colours.

COLOURS ON THE CARPET { EMMY'S 2011 }

Yesterday Hollywood held the 63rd annual Emmy awards and lets face it, the only part we watch of the entire tv coverage is what the red carpet, so here are my favourites.  I picked up on 3 noticeable colour trends and a couple of dress/fabric styles too that you may want to use for your bridesmaids or your own wedding dress.

The Blue Trend
My absolute favourite of the whole day was Katie Holmes (top) in this cobalt blue stunner, she oozed cool understated elegance in this simple dress by Calvin Klein.
I also love the colour mostly of this dress by Alberta Ferretti that Cobie Smulders was wearing. This vibrant jewel turquoise colour is very on-trend for summer along with the cobalt blue, so it's blues in many tones all round...
The Red Trend
I'm not a huge fan of red, but this was by far the most popular colour of the night and my favourite lady in red was Nancy O'Dell from ET. This dress fits her like a glove and those aqua chandelier earrings are a perfect choice to bring this look right into 2012. The strapless dress was a huge trend along with the sweetheart neckline.
Lea Michele always seems to get my vote at these events, she just knows how to pick exactly the right look for her and here she wears Marchesa.

The Black/ Nude Trend
Gwenyth Paltrow doesn't often put a foot wrong on the red carpet these days and I really happen to like this sheer lace number by Pucci. Black can be a tad boring, but sheer-lace black is something worth noting. This lace trend is also one to watch for in weddings.
And special mention to Aussie's own Racheal Taylor for looking completely part of the A-list in this sparkly number by Armani-Prive. Love her hair, love her make-up, love her attitude!

FAIRY THEME # 40 { AQUA BLUSH }

Welcome to a new Monday and another busy week of wedding stationery goodness. I have a soft vintage look for you today which seems to be on my mind of late - Aqua Blush. It uses tones of seafoam, duck-egg and spearmint with nude, marshmellow and peach, all creating a harmonious palette that would suit the truly dedicated vintage style bride but still have a modern fresh finish.

HAPPY WEDDING DAY TO ADELE & JOHN

I sent off some lovely Order of Service covers and Menu's for Adele and John this week. They chose our Petticoat Invitation in lime and apple greens and then later selected the on-the-day stationery to go with their theme. I wish you both a glorious wedding day today.

GIFT IDEA { QUOTE CANVAS ART }

I am totally loving this fabulous quote canvas artwork found at Not on the High Street.
What a simple and stunning idea for a wedding gift don't you think? Love the cream on cream, so subtle but striking at the same time.

WEDDING STYLE GUIDE MAGAZINE - UPDATE

It's very sad to hear the news that my favourite bridal magazine 'Wedding style Guide' will no longer be published. For the last 5 years this magazine has delivered stunning wedding inspiration for us all. Its so unfortunate to see a wedding resource with such a strong following disappear from the market.

The Print Fairy has been a loyal supporter in both advertising and editorial since the mag started back in 2007, even having my own wedding feature in it's winter 2008 issue.

I have every issue from the first one produced until the last sitting in my bookshelf and I will now look back on these fondly. I loved watching the magazine evolve from a smaller A5 sized edition into the large fabulous glossy that it became.
I will miss dealing with all the girls who worked on the magazine, each of them were always so happy, encouraging and supportive of my business.

I know of a couple of you who had mentioned submitting your upcoming wedding photos to WSG who will be particularly disappointed. There are many other fabulous wedding media sources available to us all in both print and online, so we will just have to wait and see how some of them fill the void.
Thanks for all of the gorgeous ideas, images and inspiration WSG, you will be missed.

TREND ALERT { GUEST BOOK ALTERNATIVES }

So what is the latest trend in Guest books for your friends and family to write a loving message to you as the happy couple? Take a look at some of these options above which are all a little bit different and a very personal way to include your guests into your wedding reception.

Clockwise from top left -  Provide a calendar for your guests to find their birthdate and write a note for you to read on that special day. Write messages on Jenga pieces for you to have a happy reminder whenever you play the game. Have guests write notes on your wooden initials. A classic typewriter for guests to spend time writing a heart felt message. And the thumbprint craze, firstly paint your own thumb prints and draw cute characters into a book, or the more clean pre-printed thumbprint tree, where guests choose a leaf and sign their name or leave a small message. Lastly, one of my favourites, the bride & groom ask guests to circle words in a dictionary that would remind them of their wedding day....so lovely.

FAIRY THEME # 39 { VIOLET & SUNSHINE }

Hello Monday, you have decided to come around very quickly this week! Here is a bright and unusual colourway that is surprisingly pretty and quite complementary together - Violet and Sunshine. This palette has a slightly regal feel to it and lends itself to an eye catching bridal party with lots of colour options for bridesmaid dresses, shoes and flowers with spring blooms about to burst.

FAIRY THEME # 38 { ANGEL, SPEARMINT & SKY }

This week I have a cool palette to inspire your warm weddings by the sea. Think shades of the ocean and colours of the summer sky to create your decor and bring your theme together. I love this fabulous painted doorway, it would make for the most amazing photo backdrop and the little ballerina's in soft pastel green and blue shades would make darling flower girl dresses. These colours of Angel, Spearmint and Sky are a harmonious blend and perfect for a beautiful beach wedding.... a nice subtle alternative to the bright tones that beach weddings tend to be.

HELLO FROM PORT DOUGLAS

Thought I'd share with you a couple of pics from our holiday in Port Douglas. We are mid-way through and the weather has been mostly glorious! We have been spending pretty much every waking moment by the pool, which my Georgie-girl is loving!  I hope wherever you are that your first day of spring is going fantastically so far!
